sheesh, mike has been talking about getting a “closet system” ever since we bought our house. i am not a fan. i enjoy the current spaciousness of our closet. we have 1/2 height rods so that shorter items (like shirts) can be hung without wasting the space below it. but we also have rods on which long items (slacks, dresses, my wetsuit) can be hung. on the high shelves, i stack sweaters and jeans, but i also use some of the space for storage of less-frequently used items. in addition to all of this closet space, we have a full vanity dresser and two nightstands in our master bedroom. (i won’t even get into the 4 additional closets and multiple other dressers in our house.)
i don’t like the limitations that a closet system puts on you. you have to fit everything into these neat little spaces that are always just a couple of inches too small in every direction.
and now we have THREE closet systems?
but hey, if i had known that a closet system would encourage the folding of clothes, i would have bought one a long time ago. hell, i willl happily get a new one every week.
